Recreational Travel before and after the IWCN conference
Salt Lake City is located in a valley surrounded by the beautiful Wasatch and Uinta mountains. It was the site of the 2002 Winter Olympic games and will likely host the 2034 Winter Olympics as well. There is usually good skiing still possible in late May! Check out the nearby ski resorts (most within 30 min drive): Alta Ski Resort Deer Valley Ski Resort and Many Others Listed Here!

In addition to skiing, the state of Utah is home to 5 National Parks: Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion. All are within 3.5 to 4.5 hours of driving from Salt Lake City and spring is the perfect time to visit them before it gets too hot. More information Here! In addition to National Parks, there are state parks, such as Antelope Island, which is one hour away and home to over 1000 free-roaming Bison. Additional National Parks, such as Grand Canyon (Arizona) and Great Basin (Nevada) are not too far from SLC.
